Taking stock of our capital projects
Shell’s 5-year capital plan
The global outlook shows a healthy spread of capital investment across all three regions, and a variety of markets, and cities, with some remote industrial locations spanning more than 40 countries and 170 locations.
While the STCH program occupies a good portion of the funding till 2024, the longer-term view also provides a look ahead into markets like Singapore, Nigeria, India, Germany, and Qatar as locations earmarked for sizeable capital investments. This emphasises the diversity of the portfolio and encapsulates real estate’s commitment to invest across its global footprint and lines of business.
“The recent OP22 exercise has provided a platform for more integrated conversations resulting in a longer-term view of the global portfolio and real estate’s trajectory for capital investments.”

Transforming performance and delivering for our clients at scale and speed starts with leadership. For this cost index, we turned these ambitions into reality by mobilising our global PMO team as the sponsors, engaging our senior leadership and account management teams as enablers, and tapping into the expertise of our market leaders and delivery groups around the world.
With this combined effort we have gathered data that allows us to understand the construction cost drivers, delivery challenges, disruptors and unique location factors that impact real estate’s diverse occupier portfolio. Combining this with our sector knowledge base we have been able to deliver the most relevant and impactful insights that bring value to Shell real estate’s portfolio.
“As Shell's strategic partner, we are committed to bringing data and insights to help you tackle the challenges of surging demand, supply chain disruption and inflationary pressures. This report will be an essential tool as you look to deliver projects in the next budget cycle.”
